The History of Dogs

Three A0 posters exploring the rich history of dogs.

Dogs show the greatest variation of size of any known species; from the smallest dog living standing at just 10.16 cm (4 in) tall to the more than 10 times bigger Zeus who's shoulder height reaches an impressive 111.8 cm (44 in).

Despite the great variation in appearance the multitude of domestic dogs all trace back to the domestication of the gray wolf 15.000 years ago. Genetic diversity has declined in favour of selective breeding and features such as short legs are linked to as little as a single gene mutation.
